I don't know how long ago I began my chronological read through of the Bible, but it has been extremely enlightening. I can't believe that I made it through so many hours in seminary and life and yet have never read the Bible through chronologically. It is amazing how much light it sheds on so many different things. I am using a "one year" read through the Bible plan, but never set out to complete it in a year. I am just taking my time. These are my notes from my chronological read through of the Bible (which is still in process.) The chronology is based on the events of the Bible as they occurred, For example, the Book of Job is integrated with Genesis because Job lived before Abraham. I use the New American Standard – Ryrie Study Bible, so if there are any quotes, this is where they are from.
This is not meant to be a full exposition, but rather my quick notes that I can “put it all together.” One of the things that Howard Hendricks taught us was to read the whole book before you dive into the details of observation. That is the purpose of this read through. There are times though when something will jump out so strongly, that you will notice I have to make more notes. Whenever I am looking at a particular part of scripture for a more in-depth study, I back at these notes to see the context.
