Census of age 20 and up – 601,730 total
None of those who had been counted by Moses and Aaron were left to be counted.
God told Moses and Eleazor to divide the land up by the number of people in each tribe. The bigger the number the bigger the portion to be granted.
Numbers 27
The daughters in the line of Manasseh had no men to inherit land for them so they plead their case to Moses that they should receive their fathers’ portions.
Moses took the case to God and He agreed they should receive the portion that would belong to the fathers.
Rules of inheritance were broadened to include women.
Moses was instructed to go up mountain of Abarim so that he could see the land God was giving the people. Moses would then be taken up.
Moses requested that God appoint a leader to follow him. Joshua was chosen by God to be the next leader.
