Judah has a son named Er. Er marries Tamar. Er is evil so God kills him. Judah sends Er’s brother Onan to take his place. Onan “spills his seed on the ground” so God kills him too. Judah promises Tamar someone else, but fails to keep his promise. Tamar tricks Judah and lays with him (as a temple harlot) – she bears twins – (Perez and Zerah)

Joseph – a successful man living in Potiphar’s (an Egyptian) house
Story of Potiphar’s wife – “he tried to rape me”
Joseph put into prison.
