Exodus 7 to Exodus 9

Exodus 7
  • Moses is 80 and Aaron is 83 when they approach Pharaoh
  • V 3 – I (God) will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that “I may multiply My signs and My wonders.” God informs Moses that things will get worse – before they got better – so that God would get more glory.
  • Aaron instructed to throw down his staff – it becomes a serpent. Pharaoh’s “wise men” do the same thing. However Aaron’s serpent eats the other serpents.
  • Plague - All the water of Egypt turned to blood and the Nile. Magicians did the same. Pharaoh still wouldn’t believe.
  • V 16 - “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.”

Exodus 8
  • V 1 - “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.”
  • Plague - The frogs cover the land – Pharaoh’s magicians do the same. However Pharaoh’s magician’s could not get rid of their frogs. V 8 - Pharaoh asks Aaron and Moses to get rid of the frogs. They do – but Pharaoh hardens his heart again and will not let them go.
  • Plague - gnats – the magicians could not duplicate. Pharaoh’s heart still hardened.
  • Plague - swarming insects – Pharaoh says he will let them go – but again he lies.

Exodus 9
  • Plague – disease of the beasts
  • Plague - boils on beast and man
  • Plague – hail and lightening
