Moses asks God – What if they (the Israelites) don’t believe me?
- Staff becomes serpent
- Moses hand turned leprous and was healed
- Put water of Nile on ground and it would turn to blood for 3rd sign if necessary
Moses was harder to convince than what the Israelites were anticipated to be. He still objects with his inability to speak well.
Aaron, his brother, assigned as his helper
Moses returned to Egypt with his family and belongings.
Moses life was threatened by God because he had not circumcised his son. Zipporah (Moses’ wife) circumcises son on the spot.
Aaron and Moses meet in the wilderness. The elders came and Moses lays out the plan for them all. The people and the elders believe the signs shown to them by Moses.

Exodus 5
Moses and Aaron go to the Pharaoh and make their request.
- Pharaoh refuses and increases labor requirements.
- The Israelites are beaten for not getting their quotas met.
- Moses questions God – why are you bringing harm on the people.
Note: Moses is questioning God, something the people will do for the next 40 years, till they get it right. Moses, their leader has to learn this lesson first.
Exodus 6
God tells Moses that even though He had revealed Himself to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – He had never revealed Himself as LORD before He had done so with Moses.
God clearly establishes Himself as LORD.
